Couples Therapy
As a Certified Relational Life Therapist, I use the tenets of Terry Real’s approach as a basis for evaluation and working with Couples. That said, I also integrate Emotionally-Focused Therapy among other psychotherapies, depending on the couple in front of me. At the end of six sessions, we review goals and I ask for feedback about what is working in therapy and what is not. Couples Therapy can often feel like a two-steps-forward, one-step-back process and we work on patience and reconnection. All couples have periods of harmony, disillusionment, and repair, and I focus on the disillusioned parts of the relationship but stress that repair is the most important piece.
